In line with our growth, we are excited to announce openings for Associate Teachers to deliver our unique Integral Sound Method workshop training courses in either Scotland or the north of England.
This position will allow you to work remotely, in your location, offering flexibility while you contribute significantly to our mission of improving global health and wellness.
Role Overview: Associate Teacher
The Associate Teacher’s main purpose is to provide high-quality training and tutoring services to students taking in-person and Zoom workshop courses.
Associate Teachers are responsible for the successful operation of workshop training and student tuition in a defined geographical area.
Teachers are required to spread their time so that both the educational, and commercial facets of the operation are covered sufficiently and successfully.
As an Associate Teacher, you will report to a Region Lead Teacher, who will train, manage, coach and support you to be successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Educational Focus
- Producing and delivering a rolling 12-month plan for workshop training in your defined area
- Providing online tutoring and mentoring to your workshop students
- Assessing homework carried out by students and giving them feedback
- Developing and leading a small team of workshop assistants to provide extra live support to you and workshop students
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress in our shared Google workspace
- Meet Educational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) agreed with your Region Lead Teacher
Commercial Focus
- Agreeing sales targets with your Region Lead Teacher
- Selecting and booking venues that have the appropriate capacity, location, look and feel to enable you to achieve your sales targets
- Maintaining an up-to-date, customer-friendly website and social media channels listing the SHA workshop courses that you’ll run with links to workshop pages on the SHA website where people can buy your workshop courses
- Carry out marketing and sales campaigns/activities to achieve targets
- Meet Commercial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) agreed with your Region Lead Teacher
Internal communication and teamwork
- Hold Zoom calls with your Region Lead Teacher twice a month
- Participate in monthly group Zoom meetings with co-workers involved in workshop training
- Collaborate with co-workers in our ‘Business Services’ teams - Marketing and Sales; IT; Heartfulness; Research & Development; Finance etc
- Check Slack at least 3 days a week and respond to messages
Requirements
- Ideally qualified with at least one of SHA’s Level 2 Practitioner Diplomas. Consideration will also be given to exceptional current Level 2 students who are not yet qualified.
- Prior experience in training/teaching
- Driving licence and car to transport instruments and equipment
- Business development/entrepreneurial experience and skills
- Marketing/sales experience and skills
- IT literate - Google Workspace, outlook, slack, zoom etc
- Modern laptop/desktop with high-speed internet connection
- Well-organised with strategic planning skills
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
- A passion for improving global health and wellness through high-quality workshop training and online tuition
- Friendly, open-hearted and compassionate
- A willingness and ability to travel widely throughout the geographic area designated as your territory
- Capacity to work at least part-time in this position, with a minimum weekly workload of 3 days a week on average.
Training and Development
You will follow our in-house teacher training program designed specifically for new SHA Associate Teachers. This is an ongoing program over 12 months and will ensure that you have the knowledge, skills and confidence to successfully deliver our multi-level workshop training program.
As part of this initial 12-month program, you will be mentored by your Region Lead Teacher while you deliver your first workshop courses.
Thereafter, your Region Lead Teacher will hold regular reviews with you to identify any additional training and development needs that are appropriate for you.
Terms
Our current business model assumes that you will work part-time or full-time in a franchise-type arrangement. You will be granted the sole right to deliver our workshop training in a defined geographical area, typically with a population size of around 5 million.
There is no fee to join the franchise, although you will need to invest your time and energy in the up-front teacher training that we provide before you receive any income from running workshop courses. You will also need to invest in sufficient sound healing instruments to run workshops with 10 or more participants.
We operate an income-share arrangement linked to the price charged for workshop course fees.
This means that the more successful you are at planning, marketing and delivering the workshop courses, the higher your income will be.
Most Associate Teachers generate US £30,000 - £50,000 for a 12-month workshop program, working part-time at least 3 days a week on average. There is the potential to earn more if you work full-time.
